Sexual and gender-based violence in the context of migration
in the Mediterranean region
11 December, 10.00 am

Migrants and asylum seekers are subjected to several forms of sexual and gender-based violence. Professionals working in reception systems must be able to recognize all these forms and provide support to survivors. Within the webinar, we are going to discuss what trafficking, rape and female genital mutilation are, adopting a gender approach and a multidisciplinary perspective. Speakers will talk about how to address them and provide information about the different national contexts of three Mediterranean countries concerned by migration: Italy, Spain and Malta.
