AIDOS carries out projects and trainings on sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR),
economic empowerment, and freedom from gender-based violence, in Italy and abroad.
AIDOS is also Collaborative Partner of IPPF European Network,
which works for guaranteeing access to SRHR.
Campaigns
AIDOS carries out communication and awareness-raising campaigns on issues related to its mission, also in collaboration with networks and coalitions it is a member of.
Advocacy, Policy, and Research
We work for structural and social change, which is necessary for reaching gender equality. We do so with policy makers, Members of Parliament, institutions, universities, media and civil society, so that such changes translate into policies, practices, and knowledge at a national, European, and global level.
AIDOS is also Implementing Partner of UNFPA, it is part of the Countdown 2030 Europe consortium, and it serves as the secretariat of the informal parliamentary working group “Global Health and Women’s Rights”.
Parliamentary group
AIDOS serves as the secretariat of the informal parliamentary working group “Global Health and Women’s Rights,” with the aim of promoting the Italian, European, and international agenda on development cooperation in the areas of global health, and sexual and reproductive health and rights.
Countdown 2030
AIDOS is part of Countdown 2030 Europe, a consortium of fifteen European sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) associations working to increase support and funding for SRHR in international cooperation.
UNFPA
AIDOS is implementing partner of UNFPA, the UN’s sexual and reproductive health agency. Its mission is to deliver a world where every pregnancy is wanted, every childbirth is safe and every young person’s potential is fulfilled. AIDOS has been editing the Italian edition of the annual report on the state of the world’s population.
Training
AIDOS carries out trainings for students, the edcuational community,and other civil society organisations on gender equality, gender-based stereotypes and violence, and harmful practices, as Female Genital Mutilation.
