“Seeing the Unseen. The case for action in the neglected crisis of unintended pregnancy”, UNFPA Report 2022 | Aidos

On the 30th of March 2022, the annual Report on the State of World Population 2022 of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), “Seeing the Unseen. The case for action in the neglected crisis of unintended pregnancy”, was launched globally.

The Fund aims “to improve reproductive and maternal health worldwide and contribute to creating a world where every pregnancy is wanted, every childbirth is safe, and every young person’s potential is fulfilled”. The annual Report is, therefore, a step in this direction. Through accurate data and up-to-date facts, it reveals the impact of the unwanted pregnancy crisis on societies, countries and global development in general. Therefore, it constitutes an essential tool for journalists, activists, researchers and political actors who work in the field of human and women’s rights.

In Italy, the Report is launched by AIDOS – the Italian association for women in development – each year and this time, the press conference was online on Youtube and the Association’s Facebook.
