GOAL
The project aims at improving food security and living conditions of vulnerable families in the Gaza Strip, combining emergency, development and a gender approach​ 

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

  • Improve the nutritional status of vulnerable families in the Gaza Strip through food distribution and awareness on proper nutrition
  • Improving the resilience and sustainability of women-led urban agribusinesses by supporting their production, promoting their rights and role in society, including their role on socio-economic development of the country, and strengthening their management skills​
  • Strengthen GUPAP’s capacity to promote the development and resilience of women entrepreneurs and vulnerable communities.​

ACTIVITIES

  3. GUPAP training and capacity building

WHAT AIDOS DOES

  • Training and technical assistance of GUPAP staff for the integration of the gender dimension in its programs, the strengthening of networking and marketing of women’s agricultural products​​
  • Identification of the expert and definition and organization of the assignment and missions of the expert
  • Facilitating advocacy actions, networking and exchange of GUPAP with other relevant regional and international organisations/programmes. Information and networking to share lessons learne
  • Coordination​
  • Periodic reports to the donor (about 4) and communication with the donor 

BENEFICIARIES
Direct beneficiaries

  • 500 households headed by women (about 2,000 people).
  • 150 Palestinian urban agribusiness women entrepreneurs, of which 135 already members of the Urban Women Agripreneurs Forum (UWAF) and 15 new women entrepreneurs
  • 20 women’s grassroots community organizations/cooperatives, (potential) members of the Gaza Urban and Peri-urban Agriculture Platform (GUPAP) ​
  • 14 operators of GUPAP and UWAF ​

  ​Indirect beneficiaries/beneficiaries:​

  • Approximately 15,000 individuals who are members of the beneficiaries’ extended families. ​
