The sixty-seventh session of the Commission on the Status of Women will be held March 6-17, 2023, in New York to address the 2023 priority theme, “Innovation and Technological Change and Education in the Digital Age to Achieve Gender Equality and Empowerment of All Women and Girls”<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Commission on the Status of Women<\/strong><\/a> (CSW) is the leading global intergovernmental body dedicated to promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment. It plays a crucial role in promoting women’s rights, documenting the reality of their lives, and setting global standards on gender equality and empowerment. In 1996, the Commission’s mandate was expanded. It took a leading role in monitoring and reviewing progress and problems in implementing the 1995 Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action and in integrating a gender perspective into the work of the United Nations. During the Commission’s annual two-week session, representatives of UN member states, civil society organizations and the various UN agencies meet at UN Headquarters in New York.<\/p>\n
